Kuwaiti National Petroleum Company (KNPC) announced a tender for the construction of the Al-Dibdibah Solar Project solar power plant. Documents are available on the Central Agency for Public Tenders.
The facility will occupy 32 square kilometers in Al-Shagaya Renewable Energy Park, 100 kilometers east of the state capital, Kuwait City. The contract for Power Purchase Agreement will be signed with the winner. The solar park should consist of 5 stations with total capacity of 300 MW. Construction work duration should not exceed 24 months. The term of service, for which the contract is concluded, is 25 years. The terms of the tender stipulate that in the 25th year of operation the plant must generate at least 3150 GWh of electricity. The contract amount should include all expenses related to the construction, equipment supply and future operation of the power plant. The tender deadline is December 16, 2018.
