Solar Power Europe Association (Solar Power Europe) has actively begun to engage in the production of solar panels in the European Union, adding several volumes of output. In particular, today in Europe, about 2.5-3.0 GW of solar modules are produced annually, i.e. approximately three times less solar systems are installed. Moreover, the output capacities allow to produce 6 to 7 GW solar modules annually. The industry’s new strategy is to produce 5 GW of solar panels a year. According to it, the chairman of the Association Christian Westermier believes that in the nearest future the annual European market of solar energy will reach 15 GW, which  will require corresponding volumes of industrial production.
